HOW DID DEEP SOUTH IT COME TO EXIST?
After working in the IT department of Nat West Bank for the best part of 14 years, I decide it was time for change and a challenge. At the time I needed a vehicle to provide IT contract services to companies in the City, and as I lived in the south of the UK and provided IT services in the south I decided that Deep South would be apt. So in 1995 Deep South IT was formed, but not in its current state, back then I was a one man band providing IT solutions to Lloyds Treasury, Citibank PLC, UBS Bank, Channel 4 Television and the like. But still I was not satisfied, I believed it was time to bring the level of IT service that the big corporates had come to expect to small and medium sized companies and local education.
That’s is were Deep South IT is at today, the team are big enough and knowledgeable enough to provide a corporate level of service, but small enough to care about our partners. Our strategy is to provide a clear, concise IT solutions program to all our business partners that join our fully Managed IT packages.
My career started in retail banking, joining the then Midland Bank, later HSBC, straight from school working at various roles finally as a Relationship Manager, until around 2005, when I decided a career change into IT was the way to go to satisfy my wish to be employed in a technical capacity rather than a sales-based one.
After several months hunting, I joined the in-house IT Support team at care home provider Excelcare Group’s Head Office taking on the different jobs available over the next 6 years until the chance to join Mark at Deep South came up. At that stage, I needed to satisfy my yearning for a fresh challenge, and so it was the ideal opportunity to join a small local IT Support provider where I could be an integral part of the business helping it to grow and also establish the company’s reputation for high quality service and support.
My passion for quality IT Support is driven by both my desire to keep up to date with the latest advances in the tech arena, use technology in my day-to-day work, plus my commitment to provide the highest possible service for all our customers – this ties in with the company’s ethos as a fair, honest and transparent partner to everyone we deal with which, I believe makes us the outstanding choice in a competitive marketplace.
